12 Must-Have Products of 2010

I have come across some incredible natural skin care products this year, and I wanted to share my must-haves with you. 1. 100% Pure Organic Lavender Honey Facial Cleansing Foam, $18.50. This is my go-to face wash, and the only face wash I’ve used consistently for almost a year. I love foaming washes, and foams are great for dry skin as well, particularly if you are sensitive and prone to clogged pores (cream cleansers tend to contain waxes that can easily clog pores). 100% Pure has a wide variety of foaming washes for all skin types, so if the lavender honey wash isn’t for you, try one of their other face washes. A bottle lasts me about 2-3 months. 2. Skin Apothke Ubtan Scrub, $15. My favorite scrub of all time. I’ve used dozens of scrubs and exfoliators over the years, and none have treated my sensitive skin the way it always wanted to be treated. You mix a little of the scrub with your choice of either water, organic milk, or organic plain yogurt and gently massage in circular motions for a minute or two. It effectively prevents blackheads and leaves your skin softer, radiant, and polished without feeling dry and irritated. Though the price went up a few dollars, this scrub is so well worth it. This will always be a staple in my medicine cabinet. 3. Arcona Triad Pads, $23. I have been using these pads for toning, removing the last remnants of my Ubtan scrub, and as a face wash if I’m traveling and don’t want to use chlorinated water to wash my sensitive skin....

My Summer Skin Care & Beauty Favorites

Sorry it’s been so long! How is everyone? 😀 For my first post of June, I would like to share with you my favorite summer skin care and beauty products. 1. Tropical Traditions Gold Standard Virgin Coconut Oil. This is my staple, but I use it a lot more in summer than I do in winter. If I go out and wear eye make-up, I use this to gently remove it without stinging my eyes. I also use it to prevent blackheads and blemishes, since coconut oil contains lauric acid, which is a powerful non-toxic fungus and bacteria fighter. I just keep a jar of this in my cupboard, and in the summer it stays in a soft, semi-liquidy state so it’s easy to use a cosmetic spatula, spoon, cotton bud, or cotton swab to scoop out some coconut oil. Then you just put it on your skin wherever you want. Some people use it in their hair, but for my fine, curly hair, I prefer to use purely moisturizing oils (I list one below). 2. Best Bath Store Acne Treatment Gel. This stuff is amazing. You can dab this on at night and it dramatically reduces any pimple (and redness) to almost nothing by morning. Better yet, you can also put it on in the morning and no one will know. Oh! And it doesn’t dry your skin out at all. It has a funky herbal scent that I really like, and the ingredients are pure and 100% natural, of course. This gel will be especially useful if you workout a lot and tend to get sweat-related blemishes...

Grow Your Hair Longer & Thicker

online payday loans direct lenders no credit checkwww.lulufashioncoach.com/scripts/ This is a favorite topic of mine because I have fine hair that is naturally curly, and I’ve always been interested in making my hair longer and thicker. This is all the information I have gathered for the last several years. I also just discovered an awesome YouTube channel yesterday called YouTips4U, with some great information on growing and caring for long hair, so definitely check her out when you get a chance. Here’s the YouTube video if you want to watch: {A LITTLE FACT} Everyone’s hair is different, and the following tips will simply help you to maximize your hair growth potential. The average hair growth per month is 1/2″ though some people may grow 3/4″ or 1″ per month. Don’t stress if your hair grows the average of 1/2″ — this is genetically predetermined, but you can do a lot to prevent breakage and stimulate healthy, thicker hair growth. {TIP #1} Get your protein. Your hair keratin grows from the inside out, so your protein and overall nutrition intake is of utmost importance. After much trial and error with my diet, I discovered that without a doubt, including some grass-fed animal products gives me thicker, healthier, shinier hair. On the other hand, I have one friend in particular that was completely vegan for several years and still grew a thick mop of hair. Pay attention to your individual needs — one size does not fit all! I compiled the following list of protein-rich foods for you (I purposely excluded protein-rich foods that are unfriendly to our hormones, weight, and...

Get Naturally Beautiful in One Night (Plus 10% Off Silk Pillowcases Until December 31st)

I think it’s pretty safe to say that most of us prefer to have good things arrive quickly and stay forever. Natural beauty is no different — we desire it to be there our entire lives. It can be with us since birth, but leave quickly in our young adult years due to internal and external neglect. Or it can come to us later in life, when we first learn how to really take care of ourselves and unleash the beauty that’s been hiding. Either way, one thing is eternally important to natural beauty: Sleep. Yes yes, you sleep by default, but sleeping properly will bring you infinitely more energy, health, and therefore, beauty. We have all been taught to “get your 8 hours of sleep!” but without any decent explanation. Sleep is restorative to our brain and every cell in our bodies. Whether you are a monophasic or polyphasic sleeper, the amount of time you spend sleeping is a chance for your body to work on repairs and generate an even chemical playing field for your brain. University of California, Berkeley and Harvard Medical School have completed studies indicating that a good night’s sleep regulates your mood and helps you cope with the challenges of your waking hours. Well-rested people are happier, less-stressed, and more consistent with their moods. They also tend to smile more, be friendlier, and because their brains are better equipped to deal with stress, there is less silent impact on their cells (i.e. inflammation, oxidation/free radical damage), and therefore their outward appearance is more naturally beautiful. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention: less...
