One of My Secret Weapons for Flawless Skin
Yogurt is an incredible natural substance, and its skin benefits are well-known. My Lithuanian grandmother, who had beautiful skin, told me that it is a common skin treatment for women there (and in Russia, as well) to use sour cream or yogurt on their faces to soften and even out the skin tone. She was right! Yogurt is also one of my secret weapons, and I would like to share with you exactly what it does and how to use it.
{BENEFITS}
Prevent and treat blemishes, soothe irritation, even out skin tone, lighten discoloration and dark spots, exfoliate dead skin cells, brighten dull and dry skin, balance skin pH
{INGREDIENTS}
1 Tbsp. organic, grass-fed cow or goat yogurt — plain, unsweetened, no added thickeners or stabilizers
{DIRECTIONS}
I use it once or twice per week (sometimes more often), usually right after a shower. Put 1 Tbsp. of yogurt in a little dish. Use the spoon to put a dollop of yogurt onto your fingers, and apply to your face and neck (chest too, if you’d like). Leave on for 5–10 minutes, max. Rinse off with lukewarm water and a splash of cool water. I like to follow up with champagne toner and then jojoba oil to moisturize.
If you try this treatment, let me know how you like it!

Hi,
I’m Russian and me and all the women in my family always use kefir or sour cream (especially in winter), because it’s basically a ready-to-use mask you can apply anytime you feel you skin is “hungry”.
Also, it’s always been #1 thing to apply on your face on any other part of your body when you got burnt in the sun. In Soviet Union there were no such things as sun-protection lotions or creams. Plus, no one really knew anything about how badly the sun can damage your skin. Thus, we got burnt very often. =) And kefir or sour cream was the only way to sooth our skin and stop us, kids, from crying for a while. =)
I just found your blog, favorited it and will try to read every word of it !
Actually I’ve been doing the Tanaka massage with coconut oil or shea butter, as seen on your Youtube channel for 2 days now (27 years old and already some wrinkles showing up, it’s horrible
!!).
I love your approach so much I thought I’d come here to check it out … and wow, what a discovery ! Thank you SO much for sharing your knowledge, I really need it !
I’ll try the yogourt soon ! … Do you know if it’s good for hair too ?
I’d also be interested in making scars look less visible (I’ll check if you ever wrote about this). I’ve been nervously scratching my upper back skin for years (mindlessly when I study / read / etc. — very bad thing to do, yes yes yes) and, of course, it led to lots of scaring… I don’t wear any swimsuits or show my back anymore because of it, it’s really ugly
… I know those scars probably can’t disappear… but if you have any tips on making them less visible, I’ll take them and follow them to the letter (oh, and I do try to stop itching super hard these past weeks
)
Thank you so much again !
