Cleopatra Beauty Treatments
I’m sure we all know that Cleopatra was renowned for being a beautiful woman with a beautiful complexion. Even if it’s just legend, her name still resembles what we all love to have — natural, flawless beauty.
I’ve put together two fantastic DIY skin care recipes using milk, honey, and aloe vera — three ingredients that were widely available in Egypt and used frequently by Cleopatra. For best results, make sure all the ingredients are organic and as fresh as you can get!

{MILK & HONEY MASK}
{BENEFITS}
Moisturizing, anti-aging, evens out skin tone and texture, heals damage, soothes inflammation.
{INGREDIENTS}
1 Tbsp. organic milk ~ see if you can get local, raw goat’s milk or cow’s milk; you can also use plain, organic yogurt
1 Tbsp. organic, raw, unfiltered honey
(Optional) 1 tsp. aloe vera gel ~ see if you can get an aloe plant, then you just break off a “leaf” and squeeze the fresh gel out!
{DIRECTIONS}
Mix ingredients together in a small bowl. After cleansing, apply the mask to your face, neck, chest, and anywhere else your skin needs extra TLC. Leave on for 10 minutes. Wash off with lukewarm water, and a splash of cool water.

{MILK & HONEY BATH}
{BENEFITS}
Moisturizing, anti-aging, evens out skin tone and texture, helps prevent breakouts, soothes.
{INGREDIENTS}
3–4 cups organic milk — see if you can get local, raw goat’s milk or cow’s milk, you can also use powdered mlk
1/2 – 1 cup organic, raw, unfiltered honey
{DIRECTIONS}
After taking a shower or bath (you definitely want to wash first and get in new bathwater for this soak), fill your tub with warm water. Mix ingredients together in a small bowl, then add to the bath water while the water is filling the tub. Soak in the tub for 20 minutes. There’s no need to wash off, though you can give yourself a quick rinse (water only!) if you’d like.
Enjoy! I love the milk bath most of all…let me know how you like these treatments!

Hi again! I love all of your wonderful ideas! I had posted on the facial massage page a while back, and I just saw your review of the Skincare Revolution, and I have do declare, I MUST know your beauty regime! I’m hoping you will do a detailed explanation on your daily and nightly products and regimen! Like I’ve said before, I love the idea of allowing beauty from the inside to flow to the outside. I am gonna pick up the Skincare Revolution book for sure.
I also read through your acne skin care which is also informative on how hormones work with the skin. If you could do more posts on how to balance hormones with nutrition as you did with the acne article, that would be great. I know I could eat a lot better than I do. Only if you can, I know your are not a doc. I too believe that there can be healing within by natural means. Either way, I do enjoy your valuable info and like, I said, I must know your beauty routine!
Very informative.
Hi Paola!
I love reading your comments, you’re such a sweetheart.
Absolutely, I can do a post or video for you on my personal routine. I’m really glad you liked the acne article — I’ll definitely try to “sneak” more info on hormones and xenoestrogens into future posts. They play a huge role in our skin health and beauty, so balancing them is essential, but can be difficult because of our modern-day environment. One book I found that is really useful is Dr. Bob’s Drugless Guide to Balance Female Hormones. You might like that.
